About Close-Act

Close-Act is a street theatre company that combines different performing arts disciplines – such as dance, music and circus – with stunning visual representations, creating performances that are especially suitable for urban public areas. Besides physically trained performers in multiple theatre aspects, the spectacles of Close-Act feature impressive mobile objects and extraordinary air machinery. The stunning performances have a narrative character and are best described as magical and hypnotic. This is conveyed by the representation of quasi-mythical characters, somewhat recognisable by their archetypal appearance and colourful costumes. The style of play is interactive and full of surprises – performers on stilts move among an audience immersed in the performance. Close-Act performances are sensory experiences that are accessible and appropriate for an international audience.

Close-Act was established in 1991 and is based in a monumental premise in Tilburg (south of Holland).
